I also have to thank my son who gave me the original idea for this story. One day after school he was telling me about a book he had heard at school about a boy who could have anything he wished for. It immediately started the wheels turning, and I wondered what would happen if someone like Draco, a boy who has almost everything, would be given the chance to wish for anything in the world. Of course, he would wish for more toys, but we know his story takes a darker turn as he grows older. What would he wish for then?

My 9-year-old daughter is having six girls over for a sleep-over tonight.

I'm. Scared.

Not as scared as my son is though. Heh.

Oddness. I just noticed that someone I'm sure 100% I had friended was no longer on my flist. And I very rarely defriend... Is LJ being buggy or have I been fiddling around with my flist filters whilst drunk again? Anyway, I hope there isn't anyone else out there that may have been defriended.

Unrelated: I hate the word seed as a euphemism for semen. Spunk works. Come is a good standby. (Not cum, though. Ick. Nast.) And release is good if you're trying to avoid an NC-17 rating, although I'm not especially fond of that one either. Too clean and neat, and sex is not neat! But seed brings to my mind associations with dirt and grass seed; and unless Neville is involved somehow, that's just sick and WRONG.

I'm back from my vacation! I bet you didn't even realize I was gone.

The damage: sunburn, a bee sting, an exhilarating day at an amusement park, many blissful hours sitting on the beach, 3 books read, sand in places sand should never be, countless s'mores consumed, even more cans of Dr. Pepper, and a broken lap top.

*sob*

My poor old G4 laptop, which I had named Neville, because it's slow and steady and always gets the job done isn't powering up. So I have an appointment at the Apple store and a new power cord on order, and I'm trying not to panic. My ownficfest fic is saved on there (*frets*), along with a few other fics (*weeps*) and a slew of photos. I'm usually pretty good about backing up my work, but the last time I backed Neville up ( just two weeks ago) I only backed up my graphic design work. Not my fic. Because clearly I'm an idiot.

And when you consider I just replaced the logic board to my iMac two weeks ago (to a tune of $600 and a major hit to my savings), I'm beginning to think I'm cursed, but also really stupid for not realizing an equally old laptop might need to be replaced in the very near future. Argh! So here's hoping at the very least Neville's hard drive can be saved!

And, now, back to my vacation happy place. Sand... Sun... Dr. Pepper... almost there... Yes! There will be pictures posted as soon as I locate my camera cable, and I wrote a drabble:

I was going to do the Week in a Life meme (last seen in kaalee's journal) when I realized how little I have been posting this summer, but sometime around 7:00 p.m. last night my son dropped my camera, and now I fear it's now broken. So I think I'm stuck with posting a Day in a Life for now.

Anyway, follow me as I spend a hot, sticky day attending birthday parties and a baseball game.

LOL wow! I think this is a case of way over-analysis, um no pun intended, I wonder if you would have made this argument if JK Rowling wouldn't have ever said that Dumbledore is gay? It sounds a little like the arguments a few years back that Frodo and Sam were a couple.

My 10-second review of Up. Sweet, funny, and don't forget to bring tissues. I haven't cried openly at the movies since I don't know when. It might be too slow for younger kids (under 4), but both my school-age kids liked it. Thumbs up.

Oh hey guys! Today is my fifth anniversary on LJ. I feel like I should have something momentous to say, but mostly I just want to thank everyone for their fics, arts, meta, silliness, picspams, twitterposts, rants, squees etc.

Okay, I've never done this before. I'm going to take prompts, and I'll write you a drabble or ficlet. Bleach, Harry Potter or Fullmetal Alchemist.

Anyone else watching The Fashion Show? I'm not ready to give up on it, but I'm not feeling the love either. I miss Tim Gunn. I miss Project Runway.

I love my family. They made me a huge breakfast this morning, a homemade chocolate pie for later and took me to Star Trek.

Verdict: Star Trek = Made of Win. And I say this a someone who is not a fan of the original series, but probably has seen every episode at one time or another thanks to my college roommate and the Detroit TV station who aired Star Trek everyday at 6 pm. (Incidentally, I'm curious how she feels about this movie. She had serious fandom rage issues about the spin-off series.)

I do have one question, though. ( Spoilers )

I know there hasn't been a significant post from me in a while. Let's see... What have I been up to...
• Writer's block. I'm suffering from a horrible case of it. I even tried to write a ficlet this weekend to no avail. I also can't seem to focus on ANYTHING.
• My toilet overflowed this morning and no one noticed it until water started streaming through the ceiling. Ick, and now I have a big crack in my ceiling.
• I've started to read Naruto. I'm not sure I get what all the hype is about, but I'm only on volume 4... although I fell in love with Bleach in the very first chapter. Still, I'm sufficiently interested to keep reading, so we'll see.
• Still looking for a job...

I've got a dreamwidth account. Same name: mizbean. I friended (or whatever the local jargon is) a few people last night before I went to bed, but honestly I have no idea what I'm going to do with this account. Most likely I'll just post fic there and use it to read other people's journals. I haven't updated my insane journal account in over a year, so I don't have a good track record managing multiple journals. Anyway, I haven't set it up proper-like with icons and stuff. That will probably be this weekend's project.

My car is making bad, funny noises. I really can't afford a large car repair bill right now:(((

Okay, I've got myself sucked into another manga. At the urging of a few on my flist I started reading Fullmetal Alchemist a few weeks ago. Now I can't put down. First Bleach, now FMA. Why is manga so addictive?

Of course, this coincides nicely with the new production of FMA that premiered this week, which I really wish I could squee more about, but I couldn't get the episode to run properly on my computer. The audio runs fine, but the video keeps pooping out, which makes reading the subtitles a wee bit difficult. What I saw looked really cool though, but I think I'm going to have to wait for the officially released version that's going to be running on Funimation in two days. Sadness.

Still, since I'm only on chapter 42 of the manga, I have PLENTY to keep me busy in the meantime.

Oh! I had no idea that the voice actor who voices Toshiro in Bleach also voices Ed. So has this voice actor cornered the market on voicing shrimpy characters or what?:D

It's spring break, which means the kids are home from school, which also means I can sleep in everyday this week. I'm still in my jammies. Awesome.
